Privacy policy
Last updated 10 October 2026
Achtor is a private archive for your memories. This policy explains what personal data Achtor collects, why, who helps run the service, and the rights you have.
Who is responsible for your data
Achtor is the data controller (the one responsible for your personal data). You can reach Achtor about anything in this policy at info@advisoryfromatlas.com.
What Achtor collects
| What | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | First and last name and email address. Achtor doesn't use passwords: you log in with a code sent to your email, or with Google | To create your account and let you log in |
| Your archive | Memories, journal entries, photos, videos, voice notes, notes, documents, links and the sections you create | To store and show your archive to you and the people you choose |
| Sharing details | Names, emails and notes of people who ask to see your archive, who you approve, co-owners you invite, and thoughts people leave on shared memories | To run sharing and access |
| Partner enquiries | Name, business name, email, phone, what you do and your message | To reply to businesses that want to partner |
| Technical data | IP address, browser and device type, and the date and time of requests, kept in server logs | To keep the service secure and working |
Your archive can include personal data about other people, such as family and friends in your photos. Please only upload content you have the right to share, and think about the people in it before you share it with others.
The legal reasons Achtor relies on
- To provide the service you signed up for: your account, your archive, sharing and log-in.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the service secure, preventing misuse and replying to partner enquiries.
- Consent: for optional features that you choose to switch on. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligations: where the law requires Achtor to keep or share information.
Who can see your archive
Your archive is private by default. Co-owners you invite can add, edit and share memories. Guests can only see the memories shared with them, in the sections you approved, and can add their thoughts. Nobody else can see anything. Achtor does not sell your data and does not use it for advertising.
Services that help run Achtor
Achtor uses these providers (processors, meaning companies that handle data only on Achtor's instructions):
| Provider | What it does |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and account log-in |
| Cloudflare (R2 storage) | Stores your photos, videos and files |
| Vercel | Hosts the website and app |
| Resend | Sends Achtor's emails, such as log-in codes |
| Only if you choose Continue with Google: confirms who you are and shares your name and email with Achtor | |
| Google Fonts, jsDelivr and cdnjs | Deliver the fonts and code libraries the site loads, which means they see your IP address |
| Anthropic | Only if the optional Polish feature is switched on and you tap Polish: the text you choose to polish is sent to improve its wording |
Some of these providers are based in, or use servers in, countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where that happens, transfers rely on safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (approved contract terms for international transfers).
How long data is kept
- Your account and archive are kept for as long as your account exists.
- When you delete a memory or file, it is removed. When you delete your account, your account is removed, and any archive where you are the only owner is deleted with all its files.
- Backups and server logs may hold copies for a short time before they are overwritten.
- Partner enquiries are kept for up to 2 years after the last contact, unless a partnership starts.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- see a copy of your personal data
- correct data that is wrong
- have your data deleted
- limit how your data is used
- get your data in a portable format
- object to processing based on legitimate interests
- withdraw consent at any time
Email info@advisoryfromatlas.com to use any of these rights. Achtor will reply within one month, as the GDPR requires. You can also delete your account yourself in the app under Settings. Full details are on the Data protection page.
Children
You must be 16 or older to create an Achtor account, which is the age of digital consent in Ireland. Parents can keep memories of their children in their own archive.
Security
Connections to Achtor are encrypted. Files are stored privately and can only be opened through short-lived links given to people with access. No system is perfectly secure. Because log-in codes go to your email, keep your email account secure, ideally with two-step verification switched on.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, please contact Achtor first at info@advisoryfromatlas.com. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, Ireland (dataprotection.ie, complaint form at forms.dataprotection.ie/contact).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, Achtor will tell you in the app or by email before the change applies.
